Tampa/Rocky Point Hotel Guest Reviews

Recently stayed here for the first time in a longtime while someone was in the hospital. The positives were friendly and accommodating staff, comfortable bed, clean and plenty of water pressure and hot water which is always good! Unfortunately the positives stop here. This is an old cow that has been milked to death and needs to be fed! Parking and parking lot atrocious, paint and building exterior worn out and tired and don't even get me started on the interior, furniture is incredibly old as are the appliances and cabinets. I get that this is possibly a land play for ownership but for goodness sake either maintain the property in a current modern fashion or put everyone out of there misery and sell it for redevelopment.

We wanted a warm pool and we got it. The staff are accommodating and friendly. Only a few (not fast food) restaurants nearby, but there is a small grocery store with some alcohol choices steps away. The Ben T Davis beach is a short walk away. Sidewalk most of the way. A short section has only a dirt path up in the grass. Safe for kids. We had a late flight out. Staff let us leave our bags while we went to science museum and when we returned they let us use the shuttle. Nice people here. Breakfast was good. It was grab and go, but they still provided hot stuff which was dished up in to go containers. Only complaint is that we did see some dead cockroaches in the room.

We have been staying at Chase Suites in February for over fifteen years. It’s location is ideal. Take the Causeway west and you are in Clearwater, Largo, St Petersburg and so much more. Take Rte 60 East and all of Tampa and Ybor City are there for you. The pool and deck are inviting as is its neighbor Bahama Breeze. The staff is also very friendly and helpful. The sad aspect is the impact of Covid. Sitting in the dining area for breakfast is but a fond memory. Hot food is there to be selected, packaged, and carried to your room. The weekday evening social time is also but a memory. Sitting with old friends and new is lost. As is regular maid service. It is limited to once every week for longer stays. Towels are available, but only at the front desk.
